Silence = Compliance
I don’t like it when white people who lived in the South during the 50s and 60s tisk-tisk their teeth and shake their heads when they see some portrayal of how awful it was for black people down here during those days. “That’s how they treated black people back then.” Number one, racism is still a problem and number two, if you were alive down here back then and not standing the front lines in that struggle, you were part of the problem. Just like people who keep silent on LGBTQ issues now are part of the problem.
Silence = compliance
